This is what you need:

Excellent technical knowledge of Java in a web application environment required; knowledge of J2EE is a plus.
2+ years experience with relational databases and SQL
1+ years of Serverside Java experience
Familiarity with Frameworks
Ability to troubleshoot complex problems
Ability to multi-task
Excellent written/communication skills
3-4 years of formal education/training, a bachelor's degree in a related program or 5 years related job experience
Commercial software development experience desireable

Java Contractor Wanted

Good Call Sports is looking for a Java developer to work with us on a contract project. We're finishing an internet game built in Java that uses AJAX and Remoting to communicate with a Flash player UI. Experience with MySQL and Tomcat will be helpful. As one of our Lead Engineers on the Global Newsstand project, one of your first tasks will be selecting the optimal document search technology. Your prior experience with the open source Apache Lucene framework, with the Google Search Appliance or with another 3rd party offering, such as ISYS:web8, Exalead One or Odeum, will allow you take the reins in this regard. While we're hoping you'll be proficient with the Flex 2.0 framework in this role, because rich content is what distinguishes digital magazines from the printed page, we may settle for familiarity if you excel in other areas. With digital magazines being so new, the ability to capture interest as prospective customers preview them on the Zinio website will be crucial and your involvement will be key. You also will have the good fortune to work in an Agile/Scrum bottom up development environment in which our engineers make decisions on getting software built. The University of Arizona Financial Services Office Application Development Team is looking for a disciplined and mature web developer to work with our team of three other developers in supporting our existing VB6/ASP and Perl applications and migrating them into a new, more robust, uPortal Java/JSP-based environment.

FSO Information Technology Services (FSOITS) is a highly skilled, energetic, professional, and motivated team of 24 FTE and students providing full-scope information technology knowledge and service in support of accomplishing the Financial Services Office strategic business goals.   The team is responsible for providing technology customer support, computing infrastructure and middleware services, enterprise support services and application development services.  These services are provided in an enjoyable team-oriented environment with emphasis on excellence, strong team values, customer service and eBusiness.

The FSOITS Application Development Team supports and maintains an intranet web front-end to legacy mainframe applications including the University's financial accounting systems, payroll system, the billing and receivables portion of the student information system, and campus identification card system.  Our team is known throughout campus for adding  value-added functionality that the current legacy systems can't provide.   We do this by integrating the legacy systems through newer technologies and creating enhanced or simplified user interfaces to allow our over 4,000 customers across the U of A campus to keep the business of the university running.
